Tax Authorities Claim 1.8 Billion Rubles from Rostelecom
The Interregional Inspection of Russia’s Federal Tax Service has presented to Rostelecom the tax charges of 1.812 billion rubles for 2004 through 2006, the company announced.
Rostelecom endured the tax check from past year’s September to December. On February 8, the company received a tax inspection conclusion, setting forth the claims of 1.812 billion rubles for 2004 through 2006. Of this amount, the taxes account for 1.412 billion rubles, while penalties and fines cover the remaining 0.4 billion rubles.
National operator of long-distance calls with the telecom net of 200,000 kilometers, Rostelecom will challenge the conclusion of tax authorities both in courts and, perhaps, via the administrative methods, the company specified in the statement.
Svyazinvest is its principal holder with the voting share of 50.67 percent. Rostelecom stepped up the net profit by 76.7 percent to 8,844.8 million rubles in the first nine months of past year under Russia’s Accounting Standards.
