Russian Bomber Planes in Exercises
Tu-160 bomber planes have taken part in Russian Navy maneuvers in the Atlantic Ocean. Alexander Drobyshevsky, information aide to the commander of the Russian Navy, stated that the ultrasonic bombers are making tactical missile launches and practicing air patrol. The Russian planes are being accompanied over the ocean by F-16 and Tornado fighter jets from NATO member states.
The Russian Air Force plans to increase the number of planes taking part in the joint exercises on January 23. In addition to the Tu-160 models, Tu-95MS and Tu-22MZ bombers, Il-78 flying tankers and A-50 long-range radar detection planes will take part.

The Russian Navy has dispatched ships from the Northern and Black Sea Fleets to take part in the exercises. They include the aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov, the missile carrier Moskva, the frigates Admiral Chabanenko and Admiral Levchenko and several auxiliary vessels.
