U.S. Dollar Adjusted Upwards
The weighted average rate was 24.34 ruble/U.S. dollar an hour and a half after the start of today’s trading on MICEX, which is 5 kopecks above the rate set for January 16.
The U.S. currency shed 8 kopecks two days ago, so today’s rise means the dollar has won back the better part of its loss to Russia’s ruble. The ruble depreciated in the environment of sizeable turnover. As of 11:30 a.m., MSK, the commercial banks clinched deals for the total worth of above $810 million.
For euro, the rate was 36.07 ruble/euro, today settlement, by results of the Wednesday trading, the minimal deals were made at 35.97 ruble/euro.
