Lawmakers Advocate Eternalizing Historical Legacy of Presidents
The Fair Russia faction of State Duma has lodged a bill on centers for historical legacy of Russia’s ex-presidents, Gazeta edition reported.
These centers will focus on studying the work of each president. For this purpose, it is proposed to set up a record office, a library and museum collection keeping them in a separate building located in the motherland of former president. Each foundation will have a branch in Moscow.

According to Fair Russia, the former president will head the Trustee Board of his legacy’s center. The centers will be sanctioned to carry on business, create mass media, conduct publishing or any other activities under the RF Constitution and the Criminal Code.

Setting up a center requires 1.225 billion rubles of budget money and the annual funding of 122.5 million rubles, Vedomosti added referring to the expert opinion. Each center is to be established by the Kremlin administration as agreed upon with respective ex-president during a year on expiration of his/her authority.

According to one of the bill’s masterminds, Mikhail Emelyanov, the Duma committee will have it in a week and it will be forwarded for the first reading early in February. Other president’s factions in the State Duma will elaborate and support the bill, Emelyanov predicted.
