Lukashenko Pledged to Make Belarus China’s Stronghold in Europe
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has declared his country’s readiness to create the most favorable conditions for Chinese investors, Interfax reported.
Lukashenko also thanked China’s leadership for “colossal support” provided to Belarus. “Belarus confirms readiness to be your sincere friend and your stronghold in Europe,” Lukashenko announced. “You have been good to us and we will return good.”

“We have recently felt serious interest of China’s investors in Belarus economy,” Lukashenko said late Tuesday when meeting People's Bank of China Governor Zhou Xiaochuan, who had arrived in Minsk. “We welcome China’s investments in the economy of Belarus and will be creating the most favorable conditions for the work of Chinese investors,” the president pointed out.
