Yuzhny Beats Nadal Hard in India
Russian tennis player Mikhail Yuzhny has won a major tournament in Chennai (Madras), India. The beat world No. 2-ranked Spaniard Rafael Nadal 6:0, 6:1 in a 57-minute match. Yuzhny overwhelmed Nadal in all aspects of the game, particularly in serving. He had 91 percent winning balls on the first serve and 70 percent on the second, compared to Nadal's 48 and 18 percent, respectively.
Yuzhny prevented Nadal from making a single break point in the whole match, even while he did so five times. It was the tenth time the two played each other, and Yuzhny's fourth win against Nadal. It was one of the most resounding losses of Nadal's career. Yuzhny received $66,000 for the match, Nadal $35,500.
