Healthcare, Housing, Agrarian and Industrial Complex are Priorities
Healthcare, housing construction and development of agrarian and industrial complex will be the country’s priorities in 2008, said Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
“Healthcare, agrarian and industrial complex and housing industry will remain priorities and are to be integrated into the plan of country’s development program [elaborated] till 2020,” Medvedev said Tuesday, when addressing the meeting of Presidium of the RF President’s Council for National Projects Implementation.
Some 300 billion rubles will be appropriated to develop these national projects in 2008, Medvedev said, adding the budget additionally allocated 400 billion rubles for the national projects in the recent two years.
The Congress of United Russia Party nominated Medvedev the presidential candidate December 17. His candidature had been put forward by four parties – United Russia, Fair Russia, Agrarian Party and Civil Force. President Vladimir Putin publicly backed up Medvedev, who responded by promising the PM office to Putin if he wins the elections.
