Appearance Is One of Medvedev’s Advantages, the Nation Says
Most Russians are positive when evaluating activities of First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, signaled the poll of the Public Opinion Fund. Medvedev is one of the presidential candidates and Vladimir Putin favors exactly this bureaucrat as successor.
Asked about Medvedev’s work in capacity of the first deputy prime minister, 40 percent of the polled said the achievements prevailed over failures and only 4 percent said there were more failures than achievements.

Of those trusting Vladimir Putin, 48 percent were positive about Medvedev and 2 percent gave negative evaluation. But the figures were 24 percent and 6 percent respectively amid the respondents trusting the president in part but not in whole, while the respondents distrusting Putin had 13 percent and 17 percent respectively. Therefore, Medvedev enjoys the solid reputation even amid the respondents, who don’t absolutely trust Putin.

Asked about Medvedev’s merits as presidential candidate, 11 percent mentioned his age and appearance, 10 percent spoke of his intellect and education, 8 percent emphasized competence, experience, readiness of speech, 7 percent liked him for responsibility, working capacity and 5 percent referred to his even temper and restraint.

The absolute majority of the polled (59 percent) said they would probably vote for Medvedev at the presidential elections.

The poll was held December 15 and 16, covering 1,500 persons. The statistic error doesn’t exceed 3.6 percent.
