Criminals Robbed Anna Chakvetadze
WTA No. 6 Anna Chakvetadze of Russia was robbed in her country cottage at night from December 17 to 18. The criminals tied Anna and her parents, took money and valuables for the total amount of roughly five million rubles, RIA Novosti reported.
The cottage of Anna Chakvetadze is located close to Moscow region’s Aprelevka. According to detectives, four unidentified persons committed the crime at around 4:00 a.m. The prosecutors commenced an action on count of a gang robbery that sets forth imprisonment of up to 15 years.

Anna Chakvetadze, 20, is one of leaders of Russia’s tennis squad. She has helped the team win the Fed Cup this year. Overall, Anna prevailed in six individual WTA tournaments and earned some $2.4 million as prize money.
