Russia to Make Credit Cards of Gold, Platinum
Russia’s Rozan plastic card maker is developing a project to make bank cards from drug metals, RBC Daily reported.
The hand-made plastic cards of Super Premium class will be gold or platinum and decorated by precious and semiprecious stones, enamel, mother of pearl and fine wood. In form, the precious cards will be absolutely identical to their plastic counterparts.

But they will be heavier. A standard card weighs from five grams to six grams, but the gold one will be 30 grams to 40 grams of weight. The cost of its making will range from a few thousand to dozens of thousand dollars.

To be launched, the new product is to get a special certificate and be sanctioned by the international payment systems, Visa and MasterCard.

And last but not least, as the precious cards are made of metal, their careless handling may result in a short circuit.
