Medvedev Booked PM Office for Putin
Vladimir Putin should remain in power even after the presidential elections. He should become the prime minister, said First Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev after consulting with leaders of political parties that nominated him the presidential candidate yesterday.
Medvedev said that electing a new president won’t suffice for attaining the set targets. It is necessary to maintain the capacity of the team that has been created by today’s president. “So, I think it’s of principal importance for our country to keep Vladimir Putin in the most importance office of executive power, in the office of government’s chairman,” Medvedev emphasized.

“Expressing my readiness to run for Russia’s presidency, I address him (Putin) with the request to agree in principal to head Russia’s government after electing a new president of the country,” Medvedev said.

Medvedev also thanked all those who nominated him the presidential candidate. “I would like to thank for the offer to take part in Russia’s president’s elections. The offer has been made by Untied Russia, Fair Russia, Civil Force and Agrarian Party.”

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin named Medvedev as his favored presidential candidate yesterday.
