The Kosovo debates at Russia-NATO Council that meets in Brussels today will be stormy, the media of Belgium forecasted.
En route to Brussels, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice confirmed the resolve to settle the Kosovo problem in view of its independence under the international control. This statement denotes approaching stormy debates at Russia’s-NATO Council, which current meeting is attended by foreign ministers of the member states, including RF Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The foreign ministers of 26 NATO states are likely to warn Kosovo against unilateral declaration of independence with no consultations with the West held to the effect.

NATO will continue securing safety in Kosovo irrespective of any decision on the region’s status, foreign ministers of EU and NATO agreed in Brussels yesterday, during the informal dinner.
