With today’s prices, the average per capita income in Russia will step up to $30,000 a year by 2020, Andrei Klepach, chief of Economic Development Ministry’s Macroeconomic Forecasting Department, announced in the air of RBC TV.
The amount will be roughly $40,000 by 2030, Klepach said, specifying that today’s per capita income averages $13,000 a year.
The project for attaining per capita income of this extent is an ambitious task, Klepach said, pointing out that the basic scenario of government’s policy is the innovation scenario that provides for executing big infrastructural projects. “It should transform the infrastructure of a person's development, therefore, the highlight is the staff and ideas that we can promote on the market, ensuring efficiency of labor production,” Klepach pointed out.
The innovation scenario, the official went on, makes vital energy saving projects, as Russia is behind competitors in these indicators. Specific energy intensity, for instance, is to go down by 40 percent by 2020 so that Russia could become competitive in the world of high-priced energy, the official said.
