Four Parties Advanced to State Duma
Four parties advanced to the State Duma as of 10:00 a.m., MSK, representatives of Central Election Commission said, specifying that 97.8 percent of the ballots were handled. United Russia leads with the vote of 64.1 percent.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) collected 11.6 percent, LDPR had 8.2 percent, Fair Russia – 7.8 percent, Agrarian Party – 2.3 percent, SPS – 1 percent, Yabloko – 1.6 percent, Grazhdanskaya Sila (Civil Force) – 1.1 percent. The Democratic Party of Russia, Party of Social Justice, Russia’s Patriots gathered less than 1 percent.
The turnout at elections exceeded 60 percent, Central Election Commission chief Vladimir Churov said, adding it was above the turnout manifested at State Duma elections of 2003.
The official results will be known December 7 to 8, Churov pointed out, assuring, however, that roughly 90 percent of the ballots will be handled by 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. of December 3, 2007.
No accidents were registered during elections to the State Duma, said First Deputy Interior Minister Alexander Chekalin.
