Russia’s Standing Strengthened Worldwide, the Nation Believes
Russia materially influences global politics, said 80 percent of respondents in Russia. Of them, 36 percent entirely share this opinion, while 44 percent rather agree than disagree with it. But 10 percent don’t think so, showed the recent poll of All-Russia’s Center for Public Opinion Study.
The figures were different in March. Then, only 77 percent thought Russia a country exerting great political influence worldwide, while 16 percent were of quite the opposite opinion.
The younger respondents with bigger income are usually more optimistic. In the age group of at least 45 years old, no more than 78 percent of the polled saw some increase in global influence of the country, but the share widens to 86 percent in the age group of 18 years old to 24 years old.
The positive changes were noted by 63 percent of respondents with per capita monthly income of no more than 1,500 rubles, and 16 percent felt the negative changes. But the indicators were 88 percent and 7 percent respectively for respondents earning over 5,000 rubles each month
Russia’s role grew globally, said some 85 percent of respondents, who generally back up President Vladimir Putin. But even amid those, who don’t support today’s president (10 percent of the polled), 62 percent said Russia’s standing strengthened worldwide.
The poll of All-Russia’s Center for Public Opinion Study covered 1,600 persons in 153 settlements of Russia. The statistic error doesn’t exceed 3.4 percent.
