Only United Russia to Gather Enough Votes for State Duma
No other party but for the United Russia would gather enough votes to overcome the 7-percent ceiling at elections to the lower house of Russia’s parliament, the State Duma, showed the poll that All-Russia’s Center for Public Opinion Study held November 17 and 18.
Off all respondents, 55.6 percent said they would vote for United Russia. CPRF would enjoy the support of 5.8 percent, Fair Russia would attract 4.9 percent and LDPR would have 4.8 percent. The remaining parties would gather roughly 1 percent or even less, said Valery Fedorov, general director of All-Russia’s Center for Public Opinion Study.
The basic intrigue of forthcoming elections is the extent of attendence and the exact percentage of votes to be casted for United Russia. Another intrigue is the number of parties in the State Duma. The Kazakh one-party scenario won’t do for Russia. So, the parliament will have two parties for sure, the official forecasted.
The poll of All-Russia’s Center for Public Opinion Study was held November 17 and 18, covering 1,600 respondents in 153 settlements of 46 regions, districts and republics of Russia. The statistic error doesn’t exceed 3.4 percent.
