Fed Council Approves Rosatom Creation
Russia’s upper house of parliament, the Federation Council, has approved the Bill on the State-Run Atomic Energy Corporation, Rosatom. The State Duma passed the bill November 13.
The bill that was upheld by 134 senators and opposed by a single vote provides for creating a special corporation that will consolidate the enterprises of atomic power engineering and industry.
The capital of the corporation will be established for account of the RF contribution, federal budget appropriations, funds of special reserve funds, corporations.
The new giant will have the stocks of Atomic Energy Industrial Complex and the assets of federal-run unitary enterprises that are controlled by the Federal Atomic Energy Agency (Rosatom). The RF contribution is to be transferred to the corporation within three years.
