Siemens Paid Millions of Euros in Bribes in Russia, Nigeria, Libya
Siemens AG paid millions of euros to cabinet ministers and other bureaucrats in Russia, Nigeria and Libya, The Wall Street Journal reported. The purpose of bribes was to win lucrative contracts for telecom equipment deliveries.
The news that the Munich court fined Siemens AG by ˆ200 million was reported far back in early October, but the details have been provided recently.

It emerged that the bribes were given to four former Nigerian telecom ministers. The officials in Nigeria, Libya and Russia received 77 bribes overall for a total worth of ˆ12 million, The Wall Street Journal reported without giving the names of bribe givers and takers.
