Lufthansa Cargo to Fly over Russia till Feb. End
The aviation authorities of Russia have extended the permit for Lufthansa Cargo’s flights over Russia’s territory till the end of February 2008. The RF Transport Ministry has sent a respective letter to the transport leadership of Germany, RIA Novosti reported.
“With regard to the partnership relations of our two countries and under the memorandum of February 23, 2007, Russia’s aviation authorities have extended the permit for Lufthansa Cargo’s flights via the airport of Astana-city till the end of February 2008,” the letter says.
“The document also draws attention of the German party to inadmissibility of comparing the flights of Lufthansa Cargo via the RF airspace to South-East Asia with intermediate landing in Astana, which haven’t been specified in the current agreements, to the flights of Russia’s cargo airlines made from Russia to Germany under the air traffic agreement,” says the news release of the RF Transport Ministry.
