Vitali Klitschko Called Maskaev a Liar
Former WBC heavyweight champ and current WBC Champion Emeritus Vitali Klitschko of Ukraine has completely recovered from the backbone operation and is ready to regain the WBC world belt. He is looking forward to a bout against Russia’s Oleg Maskaev, whom he called a liar.
Asked by Fightnews.com about his loss to Maskaev in amateur boxing, Klitschko said it was a total lie.
”Yes. This guy is a liar. A LIAR, LIAR, LIAR! He tells everyone he knocked me out (the bout was stopped due to a small cut under the more safety prone amateur system, by Klitscko's coach). He told me later that he was just using this for some publicity for himself and it's no big deal. I really want him next,” Klitschko said as quoted by Fightnews.com.
According to Klitschko, he will wait for the outcome of the fight of Maskaev and Samuel Peter of Nigeria that is slated for February 2, 2008.
“Maskaev has a very long amateur background. Peter has not as much. Both guys have weak chins. But I want to face Maskaev,” Klitschko was explicit.
