Internal Troops Massed in Downtown Tbilisi
Internal troops have massed in downtown Tbilisi, News Georgia reported, specifying that the trucks with soldiers are parked at Rustaveli Avenue, at the walking distance of 10 minutes to 15 minutes from the parliament. All soldiers have the breathing gas masks with them.
Georgia’s Internal Ministry declined to comment on the information. According to previous reports, the task forces pushed the opposition from the parliament square. They used CN tear gas, water cannons and rubber truncheons to oppose the people, who protested against President Mikhail Saakashvili by gathering for the biggest show of unrest since the peaceful Rose Revolution that brought him to power.

The opposition activists and the officers clashed from time to time for a while after it. But Rustaveli Avenue was completely cleared of protesters by night once the troops blocked it along with adjacent streets.
