Khodorkovsky Reprimanded for Wrong Arm Position
Once Yukos CEO and today’s prisoner Mikhail Khodorkovsky was reprimanded again, Echo Moskvy reported with reference to Khodorkovsky’s lawyer Yuri Shmidt. This reprimand strips Khodorkovsky of the chance of conditional early relief.
This time, Khodorkovsky got the reprimand for not putting his hands behind the back when he was returning from the walk. Yukos former chief was rebuked October 15, but a half of his eight-year sentence expires October 24 and the reprimand means Khodorkovsky would no longer count on the grant of parole. The right defenders have approached President Vladimir Putin urging him to release Khodorkovsky.

Khodorkovsky’s lawyers will appeal against the decision, Shmidt said, specifying that three previous reprimands given to the prisoner by the administration of Krasnokamenskaya colony (for leaving the work place, for instance), were invalidated by the courts in the end.

Khodorkovsky was sentenced to eight years for financial crimes. Meanwhile, the prosecutors are elaborating new charges to be presented to him and Platon Lebedev, accusing them of money laundering via the Open Russia Charitable Foundation. Both Khodorkovsky and Lebedev are in Chita detention facility now, where they are to stay for the time of investigation.
