Secret Services Were Informed about Plotting Putin’s Murder by Phone
Some unidentified individuals called to Russia’s Embassy in Tehran to inform about the plot to assassinate President Vladimir Putin October 16, during his visit to Iran, Interfax announced with reference to sources with a secret service of Russia.
During the first call, an unidentified individual said that Russia’s leader shouldn’t go to Tehran if he wanted to avoid an attempt to kill him.

Other calls followed, informing about three groups of suicide terrorists directly linked to an international terrorist organization. All of them stood ready to assassinate Putin, the anonymous informers claimed.

According to a source of Interfax, the plot was reported by “a man that pulled out of one of such groups of fanatics.” During Putin’s visit to Tehran, the alarming rumors were triggered by the sources in a number of foreign states.

As a result, Interfax reported October 14 about plotting an attempt to kill Putin during his visit to the summit of the Caspian Sea’s nations to be held in Tehran October 15 and 16. The agency referred to some sources with Russia’s secret services when releasing the news.

Iran officially rebuffed the information and President Putin went to Tehran all threats notwithstanding. Later on, Putin spoke of the rumors as about an attempt to break his visit to Tehran.
