U.S. Dollar Manifests Stable Decline
U.S. dollar is going down vs. Russia’s ruble for the third work day running. It lost another 4 kopecks at the special session with the exchange rate dropping to 24.81 ruble/U.S. dollar.
The dollar sank 8 kopecks in the previous two trading days, so the three-day loss to Russia’s ruble totaled 12 kopecks, or 0.5 percent. Similar to the previous days, the key reason of dollar's decline on MICEX was euro's notable appreciation on the global markets.
Today's loss of the U.S. currency at the unified trading session happened in time of its sizeable sale by commercial banks - the amount was nearly $514 million as of 11:30 a.m. MSK, with an average executed bid standing at roughly $2.1 million.
Euro’s weighted average cost was 35.54 rubles, which is a kopeck more than the rate set by the CBR for the weekend. The biggest deals were clinched on MICEX at 35.56 ruble/euro and even the minimal ones didn’t sink below 35.50 ruble/euro.
