British Foreign Office Has Advice for Soccer Fans in Moscow
The British Foreign Office has issued a statement with recommendations for British soccer fans attending the match between the Russian and English national teams in Moscow, publish on the website of the British Foreign Office and the British Embassy in Moscow. Besides the usual reminders that a visa is necessary for travel to Russia and a migration card has to be filed out at the Russian border, the recommendations apply specifically to the English sports fans, who are renowned throughout the world for their rowdiness.
Besides being warned about the possible presence of pickpockets on the street and in Luzhniki Stadium, the fans are warned that stealing may result in arrest, fines and deportation. They are urged to attend the match sober, and reminded that smoking and drinking are illegal on Red Square. Those who encounter problems are encouraged to call the British consulate in Moscow, but warned that the consulate will not loan them money under any circumstances.

The return game between the Russian and English national teams will take place this evening at Luzhniki Stadium. The Russian Football Union has set aside 4500 seats for British fans, who are also advised by the British Embassy in Moscow not to sit in Russian sections.
