Iran Has Right to Develop Peaceful Nuclear Energy, Caspian Summit Said
The Caspian Sea states, including Iran, have the right to develop peaceful nuclear program with no limits whatsoever, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin announced at the news conference dedicated to results of the 2nd Summit of the Caspian nations.
Putin said he will deliberate on Iranian nuclear program when he personally meets with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today. The cooperation of Russia and Iran is improving, the turnover is stepping up and has reached $2 billion already, Putin pointed out, recalling the joint projects related to the space environment, civil aviation and power engineering.

The presidents of five Caspian nations have inked the final resolution today, October 16, 2007. The document confirms the sovereign rights of the Caspian Sea states for the Caspian Sea and its resources.

The Caspian Sea states emphasized that the Non-Proliferation Treaty is one of the most significant foothold of global security and stability and called for its further universalization. The presidents confirmed inalienable right of all signatories to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, including Iran, to develop peaceful nuclear program.

The Caspian Sea leaders will next meet in Azerbaijan, Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced, adding that Russia will host economic get-together of the countries in summer of 2008 and that Vladimir Putin will preside at that meeting.
