Vitali Klitschko Eager to Become Kiev Mayor
WBC Champion Emeritus Vitali Klitschko intends to take part in elections of Kiev mayor, UNIAN reported, saying the champ came up with this statement during the press conference.
“I will take part in the next elections of the mayor,” Klitschko said. “If the elections take place… all things that are happening today in the Kiev Council, happening in Kiev have cemented my thought that I should stand for this office,” the boxing legend explained.
Klitschko also said that the faction in Kiev Council, which he leads, “does utmost to make Kiev a comfortable city, a green city for those, who live in it, so that it remains a historical place, doesn't lose its face.”
Not long ago, however, the concern of Vitali Klitschko was not elections but the return to professional boxing. But his match with U.S. Jameel McCline slated for 22 September in Munich was cancelled.
“This is unbelievably bad luck,” Klitschko said via the official web of Klitschko brothers. “I’ve been in intense preparations for 9 weeks, had no problems whatsoever, and then a disc goes and slips in my last week of training. I was in prime shape, and was looking forward so much to my match.”
