Daimler to Step Up in Russia
Daimler AG (former DaimlerChrysler AG) is willing to step up on the markets of emerging economies, Andreas Renschler from the Board of Management of Daimler AG, told German media.
According to Mr Renschler, Daimler AG plans to assemble Mercedes trucks in partnership with a Russian company that will be picked out by this year-end. In addition to Russia, Daimler spent a month in talks about creating a venture with a partner in India.
On October 5, holders of former DaimlerChrysler AG backed up the BOD decision to rename the company to Daimler AG. The resolution enjoyed the support of nearly 99 percent of voters.
The automobile consortium changed its name once the deal for selling U.S. Chrysler to Cerberus Capital Management was completed.
