Iran Denied Plotting Attempt Upon Putin’s Life
The media reports about plotting attempts upon the life of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin during his tour to Tehran are totally groundless, Iran’s Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini made clear October 14.
According to Mohammad Ali Hosseini, those reports are totally groundless and could be viewed as a part of the psychological war fought by Iranian enemies to cloud relations between Iran and Russia. The agenda of Putin’s tour to Iran won’t be affected, Hosseini hoped.

With reference to a source with secret services, Russia’s Interfax agency reported late Sunday about plotting attempted murder of Putin in Tehran. To this effect, a few groups of suicide killers had been set up in Iran, Interfax announced.

The Kremlin officials declined to comment on the rumors but said they informed the president about them.

The working visit of Russia’s president to Iran is slated for October 15 and 16. Vladimir Putin goes to the region to attend the summit of the Caspian states’ leaders.
