Yanukovich Doesn’t Question Victory
Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich doesn’t doubt that his Regions’ Party has been backed up by majority of votes at elections to the Supreme Rada.
“Of all counts and forecasts, including exit-polls, that were made in advance, one thing is clear today – the Regions’ Party is at the first place and will be called the winner when the results of elections are announced,” Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich told the nation via his official website. After it, the PM went on, they will deliberate with political forces on creating a parliamentary coalition.

”Meanwhile, we should calmly wait for the count without pressurizing and unjustified and premature fanfare,” Yanukovich emphasized.

With 55.63 percent of ballots counted, the Bloc of Yulia Timoshenko has 33.25 percent, and the Regions’ Party follows with 30.76 percent. Pro-president’s Our Ukraine - People’s Self-Defense benefits from 15.53 percent. Communists, Litvin Bloc and Social Parties have also advanced to the parliament.
