Rostropovich-Vishnevskaya Collection to Go to Putin’s Residence
Alisher Usmanov, who bought out Rostropovich-Vishnevskaya collection of Russia’s painting, arts and crafts at Sotheby’s even before the auction, will hand it over to Constantine Palace, the Leningrad region, that is called St. Petersburg residence of Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reported with reference to Usmanov’s statement made at the news conference October 1, 2007.
“I wanted to obey the will of Galina Vishnevskaya, who would like the collection to find its place in one of the palaces of St. Petersburg.
