President Putin Was the Best Premier of 15 Years, the Nation Said
Vladimir Putin, who is the current president of Russia, was the best prime minister of the last 15 years, signaled the sociological poll held by All-Russia’s Center of Public Opinion Study.
Vladimir Putin was the country’s prime minister from August 1999 to May 2000. He was the best PM in Russia’s history, said 34 percent of the polled.

Evgeny Primakov and Mikhail Fradkov share the second line in the rating, each of them enjoying the vote of 10 percent. Mikhail Kasyanov generated 2 percent, while Sergey Stepashin, Viktor Chernomyrdin and Sergey Kirienko got 1 percent each.

Russia has had no good PM in the recent 15 years, said 16 percent of the polled.

Nearly half of respondents (44 percent) couldn’t name a worthy candidate for presidential elections of March 2008.

First Vice Premiers Sergey Ivanov and Dmitry Medvedev are backed up by 28 percent to 30 percent. Sergey Shoigu is the third leader with 10 percent. Russia’s Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov is supported by 6 percent of respondents. The leaders of four political parties, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, Gennady Zyuganov, Sergey Mironov and Boris Gryzlov, get from 3 percent to 4 percent each.

All-Russia’s Center of Public Opinion Study held the poll September 22 and 23, covering 1,600 respondents in 153 settlements of 46 regions of the country.
