Russia Yielded to Bosnia in Business Simplicity
Russia has been ranked the 106th in the Doing Business 2008 rating that the World Bank compiled for 178 nations in view of the business simplicity.
Singapore is the first in the Doing Business 2008 rating of the World Bank. It is followed by New Zealand and the United States is the third leader. The last three places were taken by Guinea-Bissau, the Central African Republic and Congo.
Russia has been given the 106th position, having outpaced Bangladesh, Nigeria and Belarus but yielded to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Paraguay and Ethiopia. According to the World Bank analysts, the rating of Russia was fueled by reforms related to granting credits to entrepreneurs. At the same time, it was negatively affected by the terms for the business licensing.
Croatia and Georgia have manifested the greatest achievements in reform execution. In general, the nations of Eastern Europe and former Soviet Union have managed to outrun East Asia in terms of creating favorable conditions for business.
