U.S. Dollar Dn Vs. Ruble 2nd Week Running
U.S. dollar is depreciating to Russia’s ruble for the second week running. In an hour and a half after the start of the special trading in U.S. dollars, tomorrow settlement, the weighted average rate stood at 25.33 ruble/$, i.e. a kopeck down vs. the CBR official rate.
But dollar had lost 32 kopecks in the previous five trading days, i.e. it depreciated 33 kopecks, or 1.3 percent, to ruble during six working days.
Of interest is that new losses of dollar on MICEX happened in time of its global appreciation to euro, which currently averages $1.3870 worldwide vs. $1.3890 by midday of September 14.
In Russia, the weighted average rate for euro stood at 35.15 rubles, 2 kopecks down vs. September 17 official rate of exchange set by the CBR. Moreover, a few minimal deals were clinched at 35.11 ruble/euro. Today’s depreciation of euro to Russia’s national currency happened in time of very big trading turnover. Judging by results of the special trading, commercial banks clinched deals for over 73 million euros.
