Putin, Bush Agreed to Go Fishing
In addition to deliberating on the problems of anti-missile shield, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart George Bush have agreed today to go fishing somewhere in the rivers of Siberia, Rossia TV Channel reported signaling the leaders are willing to expand their fishing territory.
”We have agreed to go fishing not only in the United States but also somewhere in Siberian rivers,” Putin said after today’s meeting with Bush in Sydney. In addition to problems of stationing the U.S. anti-missile shield in Europe and arranging another fishing party, the leaders also touched upon the issues of environment protection, including in view of the APEC summit that opens in Sydney tomorrow.

”I must say our positions are very close in these issues,” Putin said about the environmental portion of the talks.

The presidents met in Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel, where Putin stays for the time of the APEC summit.

The last meeting of leaders happened early July at the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport, Maine, and Putin went fishing with the current and former presidents of the United States exactly during that get-together.
