Christie's to Show Modigliani in Moscow
Christie's will show to Russia’s wealthy collectors top lots of November sales of impressionist and modern art, contemporary and Russian works of art and Faberge.
For the first time, top lots of three basic categories of Christie's sales will arrive in Moscow, Christie’s representative in Russia told Lenta.ru. According to Bloomberg, one of the greatest hits will be Portrait du Sculpteur Oscar Miestchaninoff by Amadeo Modigliani. Its estimate stands at $25 million.
Targeting new collectors from Russia, Christie’s will show in Moscow canvasses by Picasso, Warhol, Somov and a few works of Faberge.
The date and the place of the exhibition haven’t been reported so far. In February of 2007, Christie's displayed to public at large the Solomon's Wall by Vasily Vereshchagin in the Tretyakov Gallery.
Besides Moscow, Christie’s will bring the lots to London, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York this fall.
