Imperial Energy Discovers Crude Oil
Britain’s Imperial Energy has discovered sizeable reserves of crude oil at two exploration wells – Severo-Chertalinskoe 403 and Nyuliginskoe-2, PRIME-TASS announced with reference to the company’s statement.
Britain’s Imperial Energy reported it discovered sizeable reserves of crude at Severo-Chertalinskoe 403 and Nyuliginskoe-2 wells. As of December 31, 2006, DeGolyer and MacNaughton evaluated Severo-Chertalinskoe reserves at 46 million barrels, the SPE 2P category. The reserves under Russian standards haven’t been recorded so far, but Imperial Energy plans to register them with the State Commission once the testing of wells is completed.
The reserves of Nelyuginskoe-2 are yet unregistered both under the category of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and Russia’s category. The registration with the State Commission is slated for this year.
Imperial Energy holds licenses for 15 fields in the Tomsk region of Russia, including Festivalnoe, Kiev-Eganskoe, Snezhnoe and Maiskoe. Under the DeGolyer and MacNaughton audit, the company has 802.6 million barrels of crude in proven and probable reserves and producers roughly 6,000 barrels each day.
