David Beckham Won’t Play for Britain against Russia
English midfielder of Los Angeles Galaxy David Beckham will miss six weeks of the season after being diagnosed with a sprained knee, AP reported. So, Beckham won’t play for England against Russia in the Euro-2008 qualifying game at Wembley on September 12.
Beckham, 32, was injured once he clashed with Pachuca midfielder Fernando Salazar in the SuperLiga title match. He is expected to play again no sooner than in mid.-October, when Galaxy will have just three matches left at MLS championships.

”It’s just gone from one thing to another thing,” AP quoted Beckham as saying. “Maybe it’s time for me to just rest, and get it right and don’t come back until it’s right.”

Beckham has already missed seven games since joining Los Angeles Galaxy because of the ankle injury.

At the same time, Beckham may play for England’s national team in the match that Moscow will host October 17.
