Moscow Hotels Called Most Expensive
According to the recent report of Hogg Robinson Group (HRG), Moscow hotels are the most expensive worldwide. The daily cost of a room averages $475 here though the price is just $362 in New York.
The hotel prices have been booming since 2005, the HRG analysts calculated. One of the leaders in growth rates, Dubai climbed from the 7th position to the 3rd one, having neared New York. The prices in Mumbai hotels surged 30 percent, Barcelona went up 18 percent, Berlin gained 17 percent and Singapore had the growth of 12 percent.
The increase in prices was recorded not only in Europe but also in the Middle East and Asia, said HRG Director for Hotel Business Margaret Bowler. Given that the last two regions haven’t matured yet, the further growth in prices is easy to predict, Bowler concluded.
The hotel prices stood still only in Africa, said the HRG report that covered just the first half of this year. At the same time, the cost of a room in Eastern Europe went up 18.7 percent, and that growth was mostly ensured by Moscow. Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar fueled the prices in the East.
