Russia’s Consumer Rights Watchdog Harms Moldova’s Image
Moldova-Vin agro-industrial agency announced it has enough evidence that Russia’s Federal Consumer Rights and Welfare Supervision Service is blocking the dialogue concerning the return of Moldavian wine to the Russian market. The agency claims that the Russian officials give biased estimations of its quality, thus considerably harming Moldova’s image.
Moldova-Vin agro-industrial agency believes that Russia’s Federal Consumer Rights and Welfare Supervision Service creates obstacles to prevent Moldova’s wine from returning to the Russian market, and that it is partially due to the personal economic interests of some officials of the Russian watchdog.
Moldova-Vin’s statement was issued shortly after Moldavian President Vladimir Voronin had said that Moldavia is an independent country, and not a colony, so “the metropolis cannot come and revise the republic’s wine enterprises”.
“If the interests of high-ranked corrupted Russian officials stand behind it, then let Russia deal with them on its own. It’s not our problem,” said Voronin. The Federal Consumer Rights Supervision Service refrained from giving official comments.
