Russia Behaves Brutally on Energy Market
French President Nicolas Sarkozy delivered a speech on Monday, devoted to his country’s foreign policy, to the ambassadors of other states. Part of his speech was devoted to Russia.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy asked Russia not to abuse its influence on the international energy market, said Associated Press. Sarkozy said that Moscow behaves too brutally there.
“Russia ‘imposes’ its return to the world market, brutally playing with its energy resources, especially oil and natural gas,” the French president said.
Sarkozy also suggested that the G8 should be expanded. The Group unites the world’s leading industrially-developed countries. Sarkozy believes it should be expanded up to 13 member states by adding China, India, Mexico, Brazil, and South Africa.
The G8 now includes Russia, the U.S., Japan, Germany, Great Britain, France, Italy, and Canada.
