The railway explosion in Novgorod region and the subsequent crash of the train ruined the start of vacations for more than three hundred Russians willing to go overseas.
”Yesterday, roughly 320 tourists that were late to the flights to Turkey, Egypt, Thailand, China, Malta went to the so-called office [dealing with latecomers]. Those were the passengers arrived from St. Petersburg, Murmansk, Petrozavodsk, Pskov, Vyborg, Kirovsk, Veliky Novgorod and other cities,” Irina Tyurina, the briefer of Russian Union of Tourist Industry, told Interfax.
Most of the operators took the situation quite adequately and endeavored to provide tickets to the nearest flights, Tyurina went on.
