U.S. Mission to OSCE Calls for Urgent Investigation of Russia’s Attack against Georgia
The United States Mission to the OSCE has condemned the air attack against Georgia and called for urgent clarification of facts related to it.
”We praise Georgia’s continuing restraint in the face of this air attack and call for the urgent clarification of the facts surrounding this incident and for all relevant parties to cooperate fully with the Georgian Government and the OSCE’s investigation,” says the statement of the Untied States Mission to the OSCE.

”We encourage Russia and Georgia to advance efforts to this end in a constructive spirit, even in the face of this latest attack,” the statement goes on.

The tensions of Moscow and Tbilisi escalated anew once Georgia reported that, on August 6, two jets of Russia violated its air and attacked a radar close to Gori city. The attack caused no damage to the radar, Georgian military specified.

Russia, however, denies any flights made in the air of Georgia on that day and regards this bombing accusation of Tbilisi another attempt to break positive trends in relations of both countries and an effort to aggravate situation in area of Georgia-South Ossetia’s conflict.
