Russia to Limit Liquids in Carry-On Baggage
The liquid quantity in carry-on baggage of Russia’s air passengers could be limited by law already next week, said Azat Zaripov, deputy chief of Aeroflot’s service for aviation safety.
”Next week, we expect the RF Justice Ministry to register the RF Transport Ministry’s ruling on limiting carriage of all liquids in cabins of airlines,” Zaripov told journalists Thursday.
Nowadays, passengers of all foreign airlines pack liquids, gels, and aerosols in the checked baggage instead of carrying them in the hand baggage. The ban extends to drinking water and strong drinks, if they have no Duty Free mark.
The EU introduced these restrictions after Britain’s detectives spotted in August 2006 some liquid explosives in the baggage of passengers in Heathrow Airport. The terrorists attempted to carry bomb components to an airliner of British Airways leaving for the United States.
