Russia’s Air Forces to Parade in Monino
Russia’s Air Forces will hold an aircraft holiday in Monino aerodrome of Moscow region on August 11, RIA Novosti reported promising the parade of aviation and combat machinery.
The event is timed to the 95th anniversary of Russia’s Air Forces creation, which is celebrated on August 12. The parade will involve all aviation facilities available in the country’s Air Forces, including combat aircraft, special-purpose aircraft, combat and transport aircraft and other planes. The general rehearsal is slated for August 7.

During the celebration, the crowd will enjoy performance of MiG-29 jets led by Strizhi (Martins) pilots and of Mi-24 jets operated by Berkuty (Golden Eagles) pilots. Onlookers will also see the flights of An-12, Il-76 and An-22 combat transport planes and the flights of long-range aircraft, including Tu-160. The show will be the largest in extent taken for the past 10 to 15 years.
