A Russia’s Soccer Club to Be Rescued by 200 Million Rubles
One of Russia’s soccer clubs, Krylia Sovetov (Wings of Soviets, Samara), that has run into the debt of roughly $7 million will be shored up by the budget loan of 200 million rubles, ITAR-TASS reported.
Krylia Sovetov will get the budget loan of 200 million rubles, legislators of the regional Samara Duma decided at the plenary sitting today. The better part of amount will go to pay off the debt to two companies of Millhouse Group, which manages assets of Russia’s billionaire and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
Those firms loaned a substantial sum of money to the soccer club three years ago. The amount has grown to roughly $7,100,000 with all interest taken into account.
The debt wasn’t paid off in time, prompting Millhouse to go to law. Moscow Arbitration ruled in April to collect from Krylia Sovetov $2,454,000. The amount stepped up by another $4,681,000 under the June award.
