Name of Expelled Diplomat Leaked to Public at Large
One of four diplomats that the Kremlin ruled to expel from Russia as the targeted and appropriate response to Britain’s expulsions is Andrew Levi, British embassy’s counselor for economy and science, The Moscow Times reported with reference to anonymous sources close to diplomat.
Mr Levi couldn’t be reached for comment. The identity of diplomats isn’t disclosed in such cases, British embassy’s spokesman specified. Moscow hasn’t given the names of expelled diplomats either. The sources say Levi helped tackle difficulties of Britain’s companies in Russia, including the talks related to Sakhalin-2 project.

UK announced extradition of four Russia’s diplomats once Moscow refused to extradite Andrey Lugovoy, who is Britain’s prime suspect in polonium murder of former FSB agent Alexander Litvinenko. Russia rebuffed by expelling four diplomats of Britain, and Andrew Levi is said to be one of them.

Britain invested $3.1 billion in Russia in the first quarter of this year, having emerged as G8’s biggest investor. Russia funneled $1.3 billion to Britain to be scored the third of all foreign investors there.
