Former allofmp3.com Owner Faces Prison Term
The state prosecutor has asked the Cheremushkinsky Court in Moscow to sentence Denis Kvasov, former general director of OOO Mediaservice, the owner of the website allofmp3.com, to three years in prison. In additions, Kvasov would be fined 15 million rubles as compensation to EMI, Warner Brothers and Universal.
In June 2006, a criminal case was initiated against Kvasov under article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Violation of Copyright”) after the Moscow office of the International Federation of Phonographic Industry filed suit in the name of the above-mentioned companies.
The trial continues today.
