Russia Isn’t Involved, Ambassador to the UK Said
RF Ambassador to the UK Yury Fedotov denied possible involvement of Russia in the hitman plot against exiled businessman Boris Berezovsky.
”It is excluded,” Fedotov said in the interview to BBC Radio 4’s Today. According to the ambassador, Berezovsky takes all chances, including which he invents, to attract attention.

Berezovsky is linked to various criminal circles, and knows better what threats he faces, Fedotov said when commenting on the media report about alleged death plot against the exiled tycoon that was foiled by Britain’s police.

Britain’s media first reported about thwarting the plot to kill Berezovsky July 18. Later that day, the businessman called a special news conference specifying that he was to be shot during a business meeting in London Hilton Hotel. M15 and M16 intercepted intelligence about the plot and the hitman was arrested.

Scotland Yard officially confirmed the detention of suspected hitman late Wednesday. The man was arrested June 21 in central London and handed over to immigration authorities after being interrogated by the police.
