Putin to Control Currency Transfers over 600,000 Rubles
Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked the government and the Central Bank to draft a bill to parliament to amend a bill on fighting money laundering, the president’s press service said Friday.
Amendments are to control currency transactions of over 600,000 rubles in an effort to counter money laundering. Banking authorities are to look closer at money transactions between spouses and close relatives as well as transfers to overseas bank accounts.

The Bank of Russia has been instructed to draft a bill to provide a comprehensive list of documents that can prove that the people involved in the transaction are close relatives.

President Putin also signed a bill to amend the federal law on currency regulation that parliament passed in June. The current law permits money transactions between close relatives.
